2024 Annual Meeting

Nearly 40 neighbors celebrated Westwood Park's 102nd Anniversary as a Homes Association on Sunday evening, April 28th at Pembroke Hill's lovely Patterson Hall. After a wine and cheese social hour, association business was conducted including election of board members. Todd Wilson and Betty James will join board members Margaret Smith, Ann Nixon, David Evans, David Belpedio, Steve Weneck, Julie Tozier, and Mackenzie Bromley. Long-serving board members Aryn Roth and Marita Wesely were thanked for their years of service to the neighborhood. After being updated on 2023 activities, neighbors heard about the Plaza District Council (www.plazakc.org) and the Heartland Tree Alliance's Neighborhood Street Tree program (www.heartlandtreealliance.com). Neighbors also heard from Melesa Johnson, Director of Public Safety under Mayor Quentin Lucas. Melesa discussed a variety of safety initiatives the city is implementing.

2023 Annual Picnic

Nearly 90 Westwood Parkers braved the light, intermittent showers to enjoy each other's company at our annual picnic on Saturday, September 16th. The Bay Boy team served their regionally famous sandwiches and provided great tunes. Andy' Frozen Custard filled whatever hole was left in our appetites.

There was room under the shelter for everyone to get out of the rain.

Bay Boy brought the food and the sound system; we brought the appetities!

Kelley & Ken provided the floor show!

Marita provided the flowers.

2022 Annual Picnic

Close to 90 neighbors enjoyed getting together in Westwood Park at our annual picnic on September 18.  For the second year in a row, neighbors feasted on Bay Boy sandwiches and Andy's custard while basking in the late summer weather.
